Prepare a quote and convert it to a sale

A quotation presents items, prices and terms before the sale. Check validity and the resulting document when converting; a quote itself is neither an invoice nor a receipt.

Before you start

Select the correct company and verify permissions. Learn in a test workspace; posting or restoring can change actual data.

Workflow

  1. 1Open Sales quotations and create a quote; choose customer, currency, date and validity.
  2. 2Add items, variants, quantities and units; review each line's price, discount and tax.
  3. 3Enter relevant terms and notes, save, then inspect print preview for customer details and total.
  4. 4After acceptance, use the available conversion action; review the order or invoice before saving.
  5. 5Check the link to the source quote; do not manually create another invoice if one was already generated.
Captured in local preview. Names and balances are samples; controls can differ with permissions and activated products.

Watch this distinction

Quote prices may need review when currency, tax or customer terms change. Sending a quote does not establish acceptance.

Verify the result

Reopen the record and check saved values and state. For financial operations, compare the document with the relevant movement and report before continuing.
