Quotes, orders, returns and recurring invoices

A quote proposes a sale, an order tracks commitment, and an invoice records the transaction. A return addresses a prior transaction, not a draft typo.

Before you start

Select the correct company and verify permissions. Learn in a test workspace; posting or restoring can change actual data.

Workflow

  1. 1Enter quote customer, items, prices and validity; inspect printing before sending.
  2. 2When accepted, use the available conversion to order or invoice and inspect transferred lines.
  3. 3For a return, choose the original invoice and returned quantities, then review stock and balance effects.
  4. 4For recurring invoices, check schedule, date, recipient and status; inspect generated documents before assuming delivery.
Captured in local preview. Names and balances are samples; controls can differ with permissions and activated products.

Watch this distinction

A quote or order is not evidence of collection. Do not record both a return and a manual balance correction for the same issue.

Verify the result

Reopen the record and check saved values and state. For financial operations, compare the document with the relevant movement and report before continuing.
