Checks, checkbooks and maturity

Recording a check is not cash collection. Follow state, maturity and available actions for incoming or outgoing checks.

Before you start

Select the correct company and verify permissions. Learn in a test workspace; posting or restoring can change actual data.

Workflow

  1. 1Enter check number, party, amount, currency, bank and maturity date.
  2. 2For outgoing checks, inspect checkbook and leaf number to avoid duplicates.
  3. 3Open details and use the state action matching the actual event, such as available deposit or return actions.
  4. 4Review effects on party and treasury, and use reports to follow maturities.
Captured in local preview. Names and balances are samples; controls can differ with permissions and activated products.

Watch this distinction

Do not re-enter an opening check as a new check. Review source and state before financial actions.

Verify the result

Reopen the record and check saved values and state. For financial operations, compare the document with the relevant movement and report before continuing.
