Budgets and planned versus actual results

A budget is a financial plan for comparison, not an entry changing actual balances. Align accounts, period and currency so differences can be explained.

Before you start

Select the correct company and verify permissions. Learn in a test workspace; posting or restoring can change actual data.

Workflow

  1. 1Open Budgets and select the planning period before entering amounts.
  2. 2Enter planned values for appropriate accounts in the available currency and time intervals.
  3. 3Check income, expenses and signs; do not confuse one month's amount with an annual total.
  4. 4Save and open actual versus budget comparison for the same accounts and date range.
  5. 5Open accounts with differences and review their documents; revisit the plan when assumptions change.
Captured in local preview. Names and balances are samples; controls can differ with permissions and activated products.

Watch this distinction

Entering a budget limit does not itself block spending. Transactions remain governed by implemented permissions and policies.

Verify the result

Reopen the record and check saved values and state. For financial operations, compare the document with the relevant movement and report before continuing.
