Security controls and password changes

Company controls differ from your personal password. Controls define sign-in rules; Change password sends a verification link to the account email.

Before you start

Select the correct company and verify permissions. Learn in a test workspace; posting or restoring can change actual data.

Workflow

  1. 1Open Security controls and review password policy and failed sign-in attempts.
  2. 2Set attempt count, attempt window and lockout duration together; save rules your team can understand.
  3. 3If restricting email domains, enter the correct company domain without a user name and review the impact on your team.
  4. 4To change your password, use the account action and follow the email link; never share the link or verification code.

Watch this distinction

A password policy does not immediately change team passwords. Confirm account recovery access before changing sign-in rules.

Verify the result

Reopen the record and check saved values and state. For financial operations, compare the document with the relevant movement and report before continuing.
