Notification preferences control alerts you see. Activity explains what happened; it does not replace the transaction document or posting record.

Before you start
Select the correct company and verify permissions. Learn in a test workspace; posting or restoring can change actual data.
Workflow
- Choose the notification types you need and save preferences.
- Open Notifications from the top bar and open an alert to inspect its context.
- In Activity, use search and date range to inspect operation type, source and actor.
- For a settings change investigation, open the change log in Security and privacy.
Watch this distinction
Marking an alert read does not change invoice status or approve a transaction.
Verify the result
Reopen the record and check saved values and state. For financial operations, compare the document with the relevant movement and report before continuing.
