Create another company and switch companies

Create a separate company for independent records; use a branch for another location of the same company. Creating a company does not transfer existing records.

Before you start

Select the correct company and verify permissions. Learn in a test workspace; posting or restoring can change actual data.

Workflow

  1. 1Open Profile, then Companies; review the companies you can access.
  2. 2Select Create a new company if permitted; enter name, legal name and an available workspace identifier.
  3. 3Review country, language, time zone, base currency, period and fiscal-year start, then branches and tax settings.
  4. 4In final review, check the summary and switch-after-creation option; create once and wait for the result.
  5. 5Check the company name before setup; configure accounts, taxes and users for this company.
  6. 6To switch, choose the intended company from the menu; check access and records after switching.
Captured in local preview. Names and balances are samples; controls can differ with permissions and activated products.

Watch this distinction

A company appearing in the owner's account does not grant every employee access. Assign access and a role in the intended company only.

Verify the result

Reopen the record and check saved values and state. For financial operations, compare the document with the relevant movement and report before continuing.
